NITA LOWEY FOR CONGRESS

The Credit Card Holders Bill of Rights is cracking down on unfair fee, rate, and penalty provisions that often saddle credit card holders with a permanent and escalating debt load, while also stepping up enforcement of essential card-holder protections.  Congresswoman Lowey is fighting to extend these protections to small businesses that are increasingly dependent on credit cards to operate.

The Fraud and Enforcement and Recovery Act helped to end abuses in the housing market such as mortgage scams and other fraudulent practices that threatened our economy and families’ financial security.
